On Thursday, September 22 we had two happy events in one evening: We had visitors, Lisa and Steven Clifford from West Lancashire in the UK, and one of our Cub leaders, Morgan Baskin, received the Medal for Meritorious Conduct.
Lisa and Steven were looking to see a bit about out how Scouting in Canada works to start a relationship that could lead to an exchange across the ocean. They brought some badges and neckerchiefs to share and we had a very pleasant time with them at the meeting and with some of the leaders at a local pub after the Cub meeting. Thanks for coming, Lisa and Steven, and we look forward to developing our relationship over the next months and years.
Morgan was very surprised to be presented with the Medal for Meritorious Conduct. She was awarded it for the actions which she took in helping another teen in a very dangerous situation last year and for being the person who contacted the girl’s parents to explain the situation–actions which showed real strength and maturity. We’re impressed by your strong Scouting spirit and character. Congratulations Morgan!
