UPDATE: We’ll be finishing up the remaining parcels on Tuesday night. Scouts will be meeting at the church, not the school.
Every year the Santa Claus Fund counts on Toronto Scouts to deliver over 40,000 gifts to children who otherwise might receive nothing. Our group will be receiving the parcels we will deliver on Fri., Dec. 5 at St. Simon’s Anglican Church on Bloor Street.
This is very important work and we certainly expect that all of our members will want to help. It also very gratifying work and a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
There will be two opportunities for Scouts to deliver parcels:
- Fri., Dec. 5 from 2pm to 5pm
- Sat., Dec. 6 from 9am to 1pm
We need both Scouts and parents please to make this a success. If parents aren’t able to come, we can cope, but we need at least some parents to come and help navigate to the correct houses and in some cases to drive their cars with Scouts and gifts to another location.
We know not everyone can come for the whole time, but please try to find a couple of hours to come and deliver Santa gifts to children this weekend.
I’m not sure whether we will be using the Bloor Street doors or the Howard Street doors, so make sure you check at both. You may need to knock or ring the bell also.
