Summer sailing and watersports day camps
Our Scout Group has a close relationship with Queen City Yacht Club. Some of our programming will happen onsite on Algonquin Island through May and June.
Also several of our youth participate in the water based programs offered there in July and August. Registration is now open, so you can check out the details for a variety of programs at Queen City Yacht Club
Last summer they introduced programs for younger children and programs that involved water sports other than sailing. Programs include:
- Wet Feet – 1 week programs for 6-8 year olds
- Water Sports – 1 week programs for multiple watersports (kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and sailing). Recommended age is 8+
- Beginner Sailing (CANSail 1 & 2) – 2 week programs
- Intermediate Sailing (CANSail 3 & 4) – 2 week programs
These programs are not administered by 403 Sea Scouts. You need to register directly with them. You can request subsidies and if they are not able to offer you one please email beth@kapn.net to see what we might be able to offer your family in terms of financial support.
