Snake Island Camp

Scouts visit marine unit
Once again we went to visit the Toronto Police Marine Unit. Scouter Keith’s friend Bruce is the head of the Toronto Police Lifeguard Service which is based at the marine unit. The unit is responsible for all the waterways in Toronto, not just the lake. They’re trained in swiftwater rescue and have a dive team as well. After the station tour Bruce took us out on a police boat. We went through the eastern gap and raced around the island back to the western gap before heading home.
