Snow fell on Skyline
The first snowfall of winter was beautiful to wake up to Sunday morning. It presented a few challenges too, but the 403TO Sea Scouts were up for it.
We gathered this past weekend with two other Scout groups for our annual Skyline Camp. Named for the area that we and the 3rd Toronto used to be part of, the Skyline Camp has always been focussed on camp skills like firelighting, axe and saw, knots and lashings, stoves and lanterns and basic survival skills. This year we were joined by the 437th Toronto, based in Etobicoke.

While Scouters are always around and available, this is a Boat Crew (patrol) focussed camp, with the Scouts mostly on their own looking after their food, shelter and getting themselves from station to station. Coxswains (PLs) were the leaders for their Boat Crews and did a good job of stepping up and taking care of their crews. Thanks to all you! You made this camp work.
The weather added a little extra challenge, but the promised rain never came and we were blessed with sunshine most of Saturday. We had a beautiful hike in the snow on Sunday and crossed the suspension bridge over the river to Cliff Cabin and the obstacle course.
Thanks to all of the Scouters from the three Scout troops for sharing knowledge at the skills stations. Some photos of our weekend together follow.
