Our first camp of the season went pretty well in spite of challenging weather. Three Scouts and three leaders paddled canoes and gear from Cherry Beach to the Island on Friday night, fighting difficult wind the whole time. The remaining scouts and leaders took the ferry over, hiking their own equipment from the dock to Snake Island. Our site had a beautiful view back to the city. Saturday was a great day, but had even stronger winds. All the Scouts did a great job of portaging the canoes to the sheltered side of the island and then paddling for a couple of hours in the inner channels of the Toronto Islands. The rain on Sunday was a bit of a drag, but all the Scouts pulled together and we had a good time still. Thank you all for a great weekend!

The wind up for 2010/2011
Our end of year Picnic was a great success with decent weather for a change. There was lots of food and fun. We said goodbye to a great leader and welcomed two new ones. We’re getting ready for summer camps at Haliburton Scout Reserve and on the Madawaska River. We’re ordering group badges for our uniforms. We’re hatching grand plans for next season and think it’s going to be our best one ever. See you all soon!
